Kids Got Rights is an initiative, not just a film—it is a movement!
Click to DonateJoin us in creating an engaging documentary/animated film to teach children about their human rights.
Together, we can make a difference in the lives of millions. Our project will be a 60-minute cinéma vérité-style documentary, incorporating animation to bring essential human rights concepts to life. We’ll travel the globe, interviewing children and teens about their experiences and understanding of human rights. The film will weave in dynamic animations and songs inspired by the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other key sources, making the information both entertaining and impactful.
The film will be divided into three 20-minute segments, along with a collection of short, two-to three-minute excerpts for easy sharing on social media. Key topics will include child labor, sexual abuse, physical abuse, housing rights, and freedom of speech.
Be part of this vital project and help empower children worldwide with knowledge of their rights.
Recognizing the diverse linguistic needs of our global audience, animation translations will be made available in multiple languages. This ensures that libraries and schools worldwide can access and utilize the animation project for educational purposes. The powerful animated visuals and storytelling will spark a revolution of awareness and action that can never be extinguished.
Please join us, animator Bonita Versh (The Rugrats Movie) Actress, Mews Small (One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest), Associate Producer Barbara Trent (Panama Deception), and Producer Julie Rico to create a worldwide phenomenon for kids to know their Human Rights.

The Spark that started Kids Got Rights- The Universal Declaration of Human Rights
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights is a cartoon booklet created in 2004 by Bonita Versh, Animator and Animation Director, and Irving Sarnoff, the Founder of Friends of the United Nations.
The United Nations and UNICEF distributed the initial booklet as a learning tool to inform people about the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. It is an essential agreement by countries that have promised to protect children's rights.
